On drift cars with a rear-mounted steering rack, like the Z33, it is important to position the steering rack forward when you drastically increase your steering angle.
This will help you achieve a more useable steering angle with smoother steering feel and less binding/over centering.
This weld-in kit will Move your steering rack forward 36mm.
This will allow you to delete the inner tie rod offset spacers commonly provided with angle kits.
Offset spacers are an easy solution for preventing over-centering.
But they are a weak link in the steering system and add stress to the steering rack.
Relocating the entire rack is the better solution.
Removing the rack offset spacers requires an additional 35mm of tie rod length (uncut S14 extended inner tie rods recommended if using MAX Super Angle Kit.
Requires steering input spline extension on the column intermediate shaft or custom steering column. Cars with speed-sensitive steering solenoids will require our solenoid delete sold separately.
Set includes Weld-on base plate, solid aluminum bushings, hardware, and high surface area low profile tubular double t-bolt clamp.
Contact us if you are a shop that intends to do this regularly since it will speed your process to buy a cross-member cut marking jig from us. Everyone else check out the photos & videos below from IG to see where to cut, visually, using and aligning features found on the cross member and the weld in plate.
*Professional welding and installation recommended.
If the center plate is welded in crooked, the rack will be crooked. If the welder overheats the plate during install, the plate can warp. Recommended to weld in small increments, not from end to end.
